As You Work Your Way Through the Produce Section

Thank goodness for the pregnancy book/website writers and for their user-friendly descriptions when it comes to the size of the fetus. Below is a list of real-life items you have been compared to in the last 5 weeks:

5 weeks -- a sesame seed / an orange seed
6 weeks -- a lentil bean
7 weeks -- a blueberry
8 weeks -- a kidney bean / a large raspberry
9 weeks -- a grape / a medium green olive

Last night, I read the list to your dad and added, "... and the baby is going to be the size of a kumquat or a prune in week 10." He replied with a nonchalant "yeah?" and continued fiddling his old camera around.

30 seconds later, his head jerked up and he said, "Does that mean our kid's gonna be a fruit?" He was very pleased with himself for coming up with that comeback.

I love this...I'm such a visual person, this really puts it into perspective!

Wait until peanut is the size of a lemon, and an orange, and a grapefruit! It's sooooo cool! When you start really feeling peanut, you'll bend over to tie your shoe, or roll to your tummy and it'll just feel like there's something in there....it's kinda' hard to describe, but you'll see! Soon!! ;-D
