Peanut's First RideDaddy and I went out to look for your first car today. We figured if we're going to spend any money, we might as well invest in a good ride that you can use for a few years. Aside from the overwhelmingly large number of models, features, strengths and weaknesses to consider and compare, we also want one that is durable and versatile for life in Asia and North America. Your daddy wants one that's easy to travel with 'cause, with parents like us, you can expect many trips and getaways even in the first few years of your life, no matter how big or small the trips might be.
Ask any parent and they can tell you that it ain't easy looking for a stroller that fits your life style and all your expectations. Mommy did research in the morning and jotted down a few names. This is what I found out:
Just like cars for big people, the European brands are often bulkier and heavier (average 6~7 Kgs), but they're also sturdier and safer. While they tend to be pricier, they're good for a longer period of time (the first 4 years). The two popular Italian-made strollers are Peg Perego and Graco. Graco is about US$100 cheaper and almost 2 kilograms heavier than Peg Perego.
Japanese and Korean brands, on the other hand, are lighter, cuter, and more compact. They're about US$40-50 cheaper than the Italian ones. The majority of them weigh about 4~5 Kgs, but they're only good for the first two years of life. The two popular models are Aprica (shown in the picture on the left) and Combi.Today, Daddy and I test-drove a "Peg Perego S1" (Say the name out loud. Doesn't it sound like a real zoom-zoom?). I liked the fact that it's got "substance" and that it's easily maneuverable. Daddy didn't like the wheels 'cause they don't have tire tracks, and he thought they were a bit small. He also wants to check out a few 3-wheelers 'cause he wants to take you jogging. While we were in the store, you didn't seem to have an opinion about the S1. Maybe you were in a food coma after that huge brunch buffet we had at Capone's?!
Obviously, we'll need to check out all the other strollers in the next few months. We walked out of the store with a couple of soothers and 2 pairs of cotton white mittens.

Well, you could still go with the S1, you could always put some 38'' Super Swampers on it, give it a 6'' lift, add a flow master and a cold air intake and you're good to go!
Tell Billy, he'll like it. ;-)
This was funny! Shellee's comment was cute too. I don't really have any opinions on strollers, which is best, except maybe check Consumer Reports for safety. Happy Hunting!
Shellee..... are you by any chance ALSO a friendly sociable person who's a big nerd at heart? ;D
