There's... like... Baby Stuff in Our Bedroom

I finally rearranged the drawers in my dresser and put Peanut's bed together.

Don't they look all neat and tidy?
I wonder how long it's gonna last...

Our bedroom is so small and awkwardly shaped that there's really not much room for anything. We thought about getting a changing table at first, but then we realized it's not a necessity since we could pretty much change him anywhere. However, since we'll have to have easy access to his diapers, they're on the top of the dresser in a wicker basket that has a lid.

Because of the limited space in the bedroom, the only kind of "baby bed" that can fit is a play pan. Well.... it'll have to do for the first while 'cause our lease is up in November, and we'll figure something out then.
We added a thin layer of memory foam on top of the original board that came with the play pan. There's also a waterproof sheet underneath the bed sheet. His "bed" will be bare: no pillow, no boarders, no toys. We bought a fleece blanket for the winter, but we may find a different use for the fleece blanket since Grandma is sending the blanket his daddy used when he was a baby.
Oh, and we're gonna hang a fabric mobile of various vessels and vehicles above his bed.

It's becoming more and more real as our preparation reaches completion. Soon there will be a baby sleeping in that bed, and we'll be buried in dirty diapers!!

It's becoming more real to you that Peanut will be here so soon.....but it's also becoming more real to me (and a few other girls over here) that we want to, but can't be there. I've been there for almost EVERY birth from Daniel down to Jacky Boy, and it's not only the 'actual birth', it's the 'after birth' (hee hee, sounds gross) that we're there for. You know what I mean, being there to help with the baby at home. ;-) I'm SO sad we can't be there physically. Really, it makes me cry. I want to be there for you, for Billy, and for my sweet newest nephew! Take full advantage of Joey and Genevieve! You'll have to squeeze the juice of all of us out of them while you have them! ;-)

So precious! I love watching your progression to parenthood.
I remember the preparations for each of my children. They are wonderful memories, and I am so glad that you documented them for your family.
