Little Chatterbox Production
This kid doesn't shut up! He's most talkative when he wakes up, before he goes to sleep, during meals, when someone's talking, and at random moments throughout the day. For quite a while now, he's been practicing the "b" sound. In the last few days, however, we noticed that he seems to be expanding his repertoire. These are just the ones we recognized.
ba: "dad" in Chinese
bra: you know... female undergarment
bwa
dada: Daddy in English
gan: Um.... could be "dry" or the F-word in Chinese, depending on the tone
fei: "fly" in Chinese
bei: "cup" in Chinese
And he has managed to put "gan-bei" together, which means "bottoms up" in Chinese
gaw: "tall" or "high" in Chinese
Last night, when we were reading Willy Wonka before bed, he went "Gaw! Gaw! (squeal) Omgaw." It was when the Oompa-Loompas were taking Mike Teevee away to stretch him back to his size. I laughed so hard I had to stop reading.
Oh, I can't wait til the day he shares a common language with us. I'd love to know what he has to say.
