when I didn't bring my laptop (I should've). But I also want to keep a
record of what's happened.
Anyway, in a nutshell:
Kai's walking now. He took his very first three steps in the TV room
and, a couple of days later, took another few steps in Grandma's room.
Now he walks across the room like nobody's business. It's really cute
cause he walks like a zombie with his arms out in the front.
Understandably, he doesn't want to be carried or put in the stroller
anymore. He wants to walk while pushing the stroller.
We also noticed his fascination with cars... well, tires/wheels to be
exact. When he's near a car, he always wants to head over there and
smack the tires. He often examines the wheels on his stroller as well.
Just in the last 24 hours, Kai's really been practicing speaking. His
first word was "doggie". He says "duh", "do", "duh-gi" when he sees a
dog. Yesterday afternoon when we were heading home from the zoo, Kai
was practicing "Bye" in the car. He repeatedly said "ba", "ba-i",
"bai", and "bye bye" while waving his hand. This morning, he said
"Bye" to aunt Monica and Uncle Allen, and a few hours later, he did it
again when P and Erik were leaving. It's such a thrill to hear him say
words that we understand!! His little "Ba-i" is simply adorable!!
Kai started walking and talking at 11 months. Is it early or late for
little boys? I gotta look it up.

Congratulations!!
I want to see that Kai walks like the zombi.
It must be lovely!!
It is very early to begin to walk alone before one years old!
Don't worry if it's early or late, Kate. (You'll drive yourself nuts) Just enjoy every minute you can because our comfort is enjoying the joy (cleaver use of words, eh?) they bring at this age. Each age has it's own 'specialness'. aunt bonnie
