1. 2. 1. 2. 3. 4.

If memory serves me correctly, the first time I heard Kai counting from 1 to 10 in the correct order in English was back at the end of May. As proud and stunned as I was, I managed to keep a somewhat practical perspective on the whole thing. I thought it was probably just a fluke -- a one-time occurrence.

Same as when he counted 1 - 5 in Spanish...

... and 1 to 10 in Chinese...

Today, as Kai and I were taking a walk around our new neighborhood, I started counting our steps to keep him entertained.

Kate: 1. 2. 1. 2. 3. 4. 1. 2. 1. 2. 3. 4. 1...
Kai: 2.
Kate: 3.
Kai 4.
Kate: 5.
Kai: 6.
Kate: 7.
Kai: 8.
Kate: 9.
Kai: 10.
Kate: Yay!
Kai: Yi (1 in Chinese)
Kate: Er.
Kai: San.
Kate: Se.
..... you got the idea.
