One Fine Weekend

Saturday

Daddy thought that it'd be dangerous for me, as my belly gets bigger, to stumble down these stairs in the middle of night, so we decided to move the bedroom downstairs.

We are very pleased with the result. The new bedroom is cozier, and the upstairs office is much more spacious and bright. We're also thinking about putting a futon in the office and make it into a guest room.

Sunday

We went out for a walk in the morning. It was nearly 30 degrees Celsius (yes, in February).
Click on the picture to enlarge. See that zit on my forehead? Yep! I've got zits now.

As soon as we got home, I hopped in the shower to get ready for work*.

Daddy was busy while I was in the shower.

Nuage was also busy.

At noon, both of us were ready to head out. Daddy was going climbing with Uncle Ben. Mommy was going to the school.

*Aside from being a teacher and a coordinator, I'm also an oral examiner for the Cambridge Young Learner English Test. It's an English proficiency test that elementary school kids can take. Though the tests are usually on weekends, I don't mind it so much 'cause I really enjoy talking to the kids.

Today, for example, I met a 9-year-old named Nicholas.

I asked, "How old are you, Nicholas?"
Nicholas answered, "I'm like... 9."
"Like 9?" I mocked him. He laughed.
Throughout the test, Nicholas impressed me with his fluency and native-like pronunciation. It was obvious that he was having a great time.
After Nicholas left the classroom, I heard the usher said to him, "Good job, Nicholas. You're all done now. Did you have fun?" Nicholas shouted (in English), "It was so much fun, and the teacher is so beautiful."
A 9-year-old made me blush. Luckily I was alone in the classroom.

I purposely put on a skull hair pin as a "special treat" for the kids. It's got big sparkly blue eyes that matched my shirt perfectly. I took this picture of myself hoping that I could capture the hair pin, but it didn't work as well as I'd hoped.

On my way home, I stopped to get some fruit and handmade dumplings.

On his way home, Daddy stopped at Costco. We had a little "Show 'n Tell" when he got home.

He got a new golf umbrella because umbrellas in Taiwan are all too small for him.

This is a new windbreaker that Daddy can go jogging in.
