From the day she was born, the first thing we noticed about Mira Wei is how quiet she is. She's not a baby that cries a lot. In fact, she hardly ever cries. The only time I've heard her really cry was when we went to get her 2-month-old shots. In our every day routine, she may sob a little if she doesn't get what she wants fast enough, but she almost never cry-cries.
Instead of crying, Wei complains. She's a very verbal child, and she talked to different people in different ways. My mother, for instance, notices that Wei sort of uses a soft and calm voice when she talks to her Wai-puo (maternal grandmother). Wei gets excited when she talks to her daddy; she often waves her arms and kicks her legs when she sees him. With me, she complains and explains. She uses more facial expressions and varied intonations. Without fail, I'm always amazed at how much fun it actually is to talk to her. I mean, it's gotta be unusual to have fun talking to a 3-month-old baby, right?!
Enjoy.
